In this all music episode, Doc & Greg discuss covers that eclipse the original. We feature music by artists whose cover version of, often, lesser known songs became massive hits, while putting such indelible stamps on them as to make those songs their own. We discuss both the original recordings, as well as the versions that in some cases, helped to break the stars that covered them.
Some of the tracks we discuss were early songs by well known artists, some were tracks that were passed off, and in a few cases the original artist watched from the sidelines as their interpreted work became forever associated with the cover artist-- so much so that in many cases, few even realize that the songs are, in fact, covers.
