In this episode, we observe the 57th anniversary of the assassination of Minister Malik el-Shabazz, known to the world as the Minister Malcolm X, a Muslim Human Rights activist who was assassinated at the Audubon Ballroom on the night of February 21, 1965.
We discuss Malcolm X's influence in hip hop music, the themes of his speeches, and how many of the things Malcolm X spoke about during his lifetime are regrettably still relevant and timely today. Lastly, we use Malcolm X's speeches themselves to expose our audience to his philosophy on race and revolutionary self- and community defense.
