In this episode, we discuss parody and novelty tracks, and their continuing popularity in American music. While there used to be a lot more novelty tracks on the pop charts, the genre continues to remain popular in several niches.

The number of entries may have gone down, but especially with the rise of Weird Al in the early 1980s, we can easily say that the quality of the parody and the novelty song, when you can find it, has dramatically increased.
