In this Episode, we interview Jon C, Co-Host of Reset Race Podcast and Reparationist. We revisit the topic of Reparations and talk about how hip hop informs politics. We discuss how Jon came to reparations as a demand, some of the parameters of a reparations program, and what is at stake for the Reparations Movement.
At the end of the day, the goal is to spread the word about reparations and make it clear why reparations is the repaying of a debt that is owed for chattel slavery, Jim Crow policies, including segregation, redlining, racial terrorism, lynching, and peonage, and the effects of those systemic programs that last even into today.
We explicitly endorse Reparations on Supernova Earth, and believe that we cannot move forward as a society until the descendants of Chattel Slavery are made whole by Reparations.
